Large Philadelphia Hospital looking for an Experienced Material Handler. Excellent Opportunity!! 

Job Summary 

  • Performs a variety of duties related to the receipt, inspection, delivery, storage, issuing, maintenance and retrieval of supplies, equipment and linen throughout the facilities. 

Education 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required). Must be able to provide a copy of your Diploma. 

Experience 

  • Requires at least three years of experience working in a hospital storeroom/warehouse working as a Material Handler. (Required)

Hours for this position are 2pm-10:30pm 

  • Central Linen 
  • Receives linen. Visually checks linen to ensure merchandise conforms to established standards and verifies quantities received where applicable. 
  • Stores linen in proper locations in bins, shelves and stocking locations to insure optimum material flow with minimal congestion. Maintains linen par levels at established standards through visual or recorded observation. 
  • Remove soiled, contaminated or discolored items from active inventory. 
  • Per established procedures, takes inventory, assembles, distributes and maintains transactions for all linen requests. Insures all orders for linen are correctly filled, delivered and data entered to maintain inventory control systems. Reports instances of linen unavailability / low stock to Supervisor. Locates, retrieves and redistributes linen to minimize stock out/low stock emergencies. 
  • Maintains work environment in a clean, safe and orderly manner in accordance with all departmental, hospital and/or external governing agency regulations. 
  • Central Supply – Materials Handler 
  • Receives supplies. Visually checks materials to ensure merchandise conforms to established standards and verifies quantities received where applicable. 
  • Stores material in proper locations in bins, shelves and stocking locations to insure optimum material flow with minimal congestion. Maintains material level at established standards through visual or recorded observation. Inspects and rotates stock to assure sterility. Remove expired, soiled, contaminated or discolored items from active inventory. 
  • Per established procedures, takes inventory, assembles, distributes and maintains transactions for all supplies, and equipment requests. Insures all orders for supplies, and equipment are correctly filled, assembled, delivered and data entered to maintain inventory control systems. Reports instances of supply, or equipment unavailability / low stock to Supervisor. Locates, retrieves and redistributes supplies, and equipment to minimize stock out/low stock emergencies. 
  • Maintains work environment in a clean, safe and orderly manner in accordance with all departmental, hospital and/or external governing agency regulations. 

This is a long temporary opportunity with the possibility of perm hire. Must be able to pass all Background and Occupational Health Clearances.
